The perfect weekend getaway in Ubud, Bali 🍀

With a mixture of adventure and relaxation, @bismacottagesubud VIP Mount Batur Hike package took us from hiking an active volcano for sunrise, to enjoying a traditional Balinese couples massage and savouring a beautiful floating breakfast in the pool, all in one weekend 🌅

Why we chose this package & how it made our Mount Batur experience special:

✨ It’s a private tour which means you get to be picked up later than group tours & get more sleep before the hike 🥾

✨ You get a guide just for yourself and you can go at your own pace without waiting for others on the trail 🚶‍♀️

When you wake up at 6am so you can have this place in Bali to yourself 🫶☺️

Was it worth it?

📍Kanto Lampo waterfall in Ubud, Bali 🇮🇩

I’ve seen so many videos of the close to a hundred people waiting in line for their photo at this waterfall and I knew I’d much rather sacrifice some sleep and try to have a different experience here 🏝️

And it was so worth it seeing the waterfall in all its glory without any crowds 🫶

Tip: try arrive here before 8am to beat the crowds. The earlier you come, the more likely you are to one of few tourists at the waterfall 🌼

Combine your visit to Kanto Lampo waterfall with other ones in the area like Tibumana, Taman Sari and Goa Rang Reng waterfalls 🐠

Travel nightmares 🙈⬇️ Getting injured abro

Travel nightmares 🙈⬇️

Getting injured abroad is no joke, even if it’s a seemingly small scratch on your hand. Especially if the culprit was a old, rusty screwdriver and you’re risking tetanus infection! Yikes! 🙈

When this happened a couple of days ago to Joe, the first thing we did was head to the closest clinic to get him a tetanus booster 🏥💉

He then submitted his reimbursement claim to SafetyWing, the insurance we’ve been using for the last 3 years travelling ✈️ which took less than 5 minutes!

We were shocked that their new claim was approved and reimbursed within 2.5 days after submitting it! 🤯 This is crazy fast in comparison to other travel medical insurance providers that we’ve dealt with in the past! 🙌

This is so reassuring and while we hope we don’t have to claim on our insurance again, it definitely gives us peace of mind 💆‍♀️ that we’re covered & we won’t have to spend a ton of time doing paperwork and waiting to get reimbursed should it happen again! ☂️☀️

Malcapyua island is one of the stops on the Coron Island Escapade tour which takes you to three breathtaking islands with turquoise water and white sand beaches, straight out of a postcard 🏝️

☀️ The best thing to do at Malcapuya Island is to just relax and take it all in, have a coconut and chill on the beach 🥥

🐠 The snorkelling here isn’t great as there isn’t much coral and not many fish so you won’t be missing out if you don’t go in the water at this island 🐬

⛵️If you’re doing a private tour, I suggest you come here first thing as it’s one of the busier stops along the tours. We arrived on the island about an hour before the group tours turned up which allowed us to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the beach, which felt magical 🫶✨

Is visiting Coron on your bucket list?

P.s this was the first island we visited during our Coron & El Nido trip and I was so blown away! I couldn’t believe I’m finally seeing these stunning islands with my own eyes ☀️

The most famous waterfall in Cebu, The Philippines 💙

Kawasan Falls, Cebu 🇵🇭 is one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island! Usually most people come here as part of their canyoneering experience but you can also visit the waterfall by itself!

We came here early morning around 7am and it was so quiet and peaceful, before all the canyoneering groups had arrived! 😍

Getting to the waterfall took around a 15-20 minute walk from the entrance and you can easily spend here a couple of hours playing and swimming in the water and enjoying nature.

It’s so refreshing and definitely one of my favourites in Cebu. Well worth getting up early for! 🙌✨

Are you a waterfall or a beach type of person? 🏝️

Personally, The Philippines 🇵🇭 really made me appreciate waterfalls so much more and I can wait to explore more of the ones in Bali next! 🇮🇩

The Philippines left me speechless 🏝️💙

Truly the most stunning place in the world with countless of crystal clear blue water beaches and white sand ✨

📌 This is Entalula Beach near El Nido 🏝️

Joe didn’t believe that the photos online were real until we got there and we saw for ourselves that the water really is THAT blue! 🙈

I already can’t wait to go back 🫶
